What’s In My Makeup Bag?

I couldn’t be more proud of the makeup I use! It took me a long time to find the foundation that works for me. After going through years of different drug store brands, I was given a ton of free makeup from my cousin who is ALWAYS at Sephora buying her makeup 🙂

Liquid Foundation

I prefer to use liquid foundation first to do the basic covering, and then follow up with powder because I like the soft look the powder gives and the liquid helps it stick better AND longer.

I use Kat Von D Lock-It Foundation [Light 45] and I mean it when I say that I’ve tried all the drugstore brands and this one is the one I like the most. I started my love with Kat Von D Lock-It when I used the pressed powder first. At the time I was using Mary Kay liquid foundation, which isn’t bad at all as well.

You can use one of these fancy sponges, or just use your fingers.

Pressed Powder

Kat Von D Lock-It Pressed Powder is also what I swear by. I use my big fat brush and apply it in circular motions.

I buy these online and they are $35 each… TRUST ME when I say that I would NEVER spend over $70 after tax for foundation unless it’s good stuff. I used to have a hard time spending $10 for foundation until I discovered Kat Von D Lock-It!!

This is something I don’t spend too much on. The one I currently have is NYX eye pencil from Target which was only about $3.50

What I prefer is the Rimmel Scandal Eyes [Black Magic] or and Rimmel brand eyeliner. Honestly I’m going to go back to Rimmel when my NYX is gone.

For mascara I use Voluminous Miss Manga Rock. I am not too picky with mascara because I think the way it’s applied shows the best results.

How I apply:

  • With eye open, place wand at the base of the lashes, pull through the lashes while slowly closing eye [not closing it all the way]
  • Making sure you get every eye lash, corner to corner, continue while also adding more mascara to the wand

If there are lashes stuck together, I use the wand to try and separate them.

For blush I use NYX [Pinky]. Blush is new for me so this is the first color and brand I fell in love with.

To apply, I like to do the fish face, sinking my cheeks in to show the cheek bone, then apply blush in circular motions.

This isn’t in my makeup bag, but sometimes I throw it in depending on how I’m feeling. 🙂

So that’s it!! I don’t feel the need to use concealer or highlighters for my face because I rather not use a ton of makeup, so this is what works for me and I’m so happy with my face! 🙂

Feel welcome to add your items in your makeup bag OR let me know your thoughts!!
